Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Approves Parx Mini Casino in Greenwood

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) voted unanimously to provide a license to Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, which operates Parx Casino, a category four gaming license.
The category four license permits up to 750 slot machines and the possibility for up to 30 table games for an additional $2.5m fee. In addition, the PA online casino can extend the 30-table game limit to 40 after one year.
The 73,000-square-foot casino, which will be located within the Shippensburg Township in Cumberland County, will be home to around 500 slots, a wide selection of electronic table games, a 100-seat restaurant, and a sports bar.
Greenwood won the auction of the license, which was held by the PGCB in February 2018, with a winning bid of $8.11.
Officials expect the casino to open towards the end of 2022, employing around 125 full-time workers.
