Hollywood Casino At Penn National Closes Poker Room Permanently

Announced on July 1st via their official Facebook page, Hollywood Casino At Penn National has decided to permanently close the doors of their poker room, which haven’t been open since the start of the pandemic.

Players who participated in rated poker play between August 4th, 2019, and March 20th, 2020, will be eligible to participate in a giveaway to win a share of the Bad Beat Jackpot, worth a total of $440,000.

The giveaway will be held between July 29th and July 30th.

The announcement garnered primarily negative comments on their Facebook page, with some customers upset at having to drive further afield to play at a brick-and-mortar establishment.

The closure of the poker room follows the removal of 191 slot machines from the same casino, as reps blamed unregulated and untaxed skill games for eating into much-needed revenues.
