Parx’s 2021-2022 Year in Revenue and Market Share
There are 16 casinos in Pennsylvania, which is 2 more than the year before and 4 more than in 2019-2020. Pennsylvania saw the opening of the first mini-casinos.
Parx led all 16 casinos in Pennsylvania with $407.9 million in slot machine revenue, or nearly a 17% market share. Wind Creek took first place in table games, followed by Parx in second place with $213.7 million, or 21% of the market.

What’s Ahead for Parx
Recently, Chief Marketing Officer Marc Oppenheimer spoke about a variety of subjects related to the casino business, including inflation and how it affects players’ spending.
Marc said that they are observing the same thing as their players. The business has suffered a little, primarily in the area of slots. The number of visitors is stable. The decrease in spend-per-trip, particularly for some market groups, is the source of the revenue decline. For Parx to succeed, people need to have both discretionary time and discretionary cash, which they now lack.
Parx to Open a Hotel in the Near Future
According to Parx CEO Eric Hausler, the business is now building a hotel. Given the size of the building and its location, it seems incredible that there isn’t a hotel there, thus efforts are being made to change that. A hotel isn‘t going to open up in 2022, but rather, in a few years.
