To devote more time to his family before the birth of his child, Kaplowitz left the company that runs Penn National Gaming’s digital businesses and Pennsylvania online casinos, including the Barstool Sportsbook & Casino and theScore, he announced this on his LinkedIn page.

After spending seven years at Comcast, where he eventually rose to the position of managing director and general manager of new enterprises, Kaplowitz joined Penn Interactive (PI) in February 2019.

The agreement of PI’s exclusive sports betting and online casino deal with Barstool Sports in 2019 and its launch in ten US states are among the highlights of Kaplowitz’s time as chief executive. Also, in the past three years, Penn has acquired Score Media and Gaming and founded Penn Game Studios.

As Kaplowitz said: “The greatest and most inventive integrated sports media and gaming company in the US has been our collaborative ambition from day one. We achieved it and much more, including boosting the division’s top line by 12x in less than three years, having a top-rated app in the US, and being recognized as one of the best workplaces in Philadelphia and the market overall.”

“It has been a genuine honor to work with you every day”, he thanked everyone at Penn National Gaming for giving him this job. “For my business partners at Barstool Sports and theScore, it has been amazing to watch how our alliances have grown over the years to produce something very special.”

Regarding Kaplowitz’s resignation or the search for a replacement, Penn Interactive has not yet made any comments.
