PA Gambling Revenues Up 8.4% from May 2021

Pennsylvania gambling revenues in May 2022 were up 8.4% year-on-year from May 2021 for a total of $413.2m but fell 3.2% shy of April’s $462.7m records.

As usual, it’s the land-based casinos and sportsbooks handling the most money, with retail slots taking in $205.7m in the month for a 2.1% increase and table games bringing in $88.6m, a larger 14.7% rise.

The online gambling websites in Pennsylvania continue with significant growth, though, with online slots raking in 16.3% more takings for a total of $78.2m, and online table games and poker growing 2.8% and 8% respectively.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National was the month’s clear leader in iGaming with $45.5m in revenue, beating out second-place earners Rivers Casino Philadelphia, who took $26.9m, and Valley Forge Casino Resort, who brought in $21.2m.

The only sector of the gambling industry in Pennsylvania not to see any growth in May was fantasy sports, with revenue declining a whopping 20.71% to $1.6m.
